Jaden Springer breaks down his recruitment

Class of 2020 IMG Academy (FL) guard Jaden Springer had a nice 18 point performance on day one of the National Hoopfest. It is his first year at IMG and so he is still adjusting to his new school.

“Being at IMG you really have to adjust because everyone was the man at their high school,” Springer said. “When you come here you just have to play as a team and work throughout the system.”

Springer is becoming a more complete player but aspires to add more to his game by next year.

“By my senior year I’m trying to do everything,” he said. “I want to shoot the ball better, pass better and get my handle better. I just want to elevate my game to the next level.”

His recruitment has taken off with multiple high major schools consistently after him.

“The schools talking to me the hardest are UCLA, Kansas, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Georgia, Maryland, NC State, Texas and a lot more,” said Springer.

As far as official visits, Springer sees himself taking that step after this season.

“I haven’t been on any visits, but after the high school season I plan on taking some official visits,” he said. “I’ve been talking to my parents about it and they’ve said after the season we will look into it.”

NC State head coach Kevin Keatts was in to see Springer at the Hoopfest. He and his staff have made a good impression on Springer so far.

“They have a great program, they are well coached and I just like the way that they are structured. I like their facility and I just like NC State a lot.”

Wake Forest assistant coach Randolph Childress was also in attendance watching Springer. Springer is familiar with their program.

“They have a good head coach in Danny Manning,” said Springer. “They have a great facility and know how to train their guys. I’ve been down there to see them work out a few times.”

Kansas offered Springer in late August and has since made him a priority. He likes what he has seen from the Jayhawks.

“I honestly don’t know too much about them yet, but I know they are well coached,” Springer. “They always bring a lot of toughness and are one of the top schools in the country.”

He plans on taking his time as far as cutting down his list or committing to a school

“I’m really just taking my time with it,” he said. “There is no rush and I have another year so whatever happens, happens.”
