Seton Hall has landed their first commitment for the class of 2019 in Our Saviour Lutheran (N.Y.) guard Dashawn Davis. Davis picked the Pirates over Old Dominion and St. John’s. This is the second year in a row that Seton Hall has landed a player from Our Saviour Lutheran Jared Rhoden being on this year’s team. Davis broke down why he decided on Seton Hall with Prep Circuit.
Q: What school have you chosen and why?
A: “I have chosen Seton Hall University because it was home,” said Davis. “I looked at all my options and felt that this was the best fit for me.”
Q: Why was the best fit for you?
A: “Seton Hall needed another ball handler and someone to fill in for Myles Powell’s spot. They need people to take up for some of his scoring when he’s gone. I think I could help them with that.”
Q: What excites you the most about joining Seton Hall’s program?
A: “What excites me about joining their program is that it’s close to home, they play a lot of great competition and I have experience with some of their players.”
Q: What does their staff like about you and what do you look to bring to their team?
A: “Their staff loves that I bring a lot of energy, toughness, and aggressiveness whenever I’m on the floor. I’ll bring this when I arrive next year.”
Miami freshman guard Anthony Mack tells me he is transferring.
