Q&A with Jeremiah Davenport

Senior small forward Jeremiah Davenport from Hargrave Miltary Academy (VA) put together a solid performance against a talented IMG Academy (FL) squad. He spoke to Prep Circuit on his performance, latest with his recruitment and more.

Q: How would you describe your performance today?

A: “I struggled the first half, but I got a lot of rebounds and tip passes to my teammates. I started scoring buckets and doing things like that.”

Q: When you are playing well what are some of the things you are doing on the floor?

A: “When I get going I can really shoot the ball from three, hit pull-ups and get to the basket. I’m really explosive and can make plays for me and my teammates.”

Q: How has Hargrave Military Academy helped your development?

A: “Since day one I got to Hargrave my coaches and teammates have been pushing me to work hard. That helped improve my explosiveness, get stronger and make me more comfortable.”

Q: What’s the latest with your recruitment?

A: “It’s going well so far, I have a couple of ACC schools looking at me. NC State, Pittsburgh and Wake Forest are looking at me. A Big East school in Xavier is looking at me.”

Q: What schools have extended offers to you thus far?

A: “Wright State, Western Carolina, Saint Bonaventure, and Presbyterian.”

Q: What’s your relationship like with NC State?

A: “NC State has a good coach, he was at Hargrave for about twelve years and he’s really on me. They have had good players come out of there, Coach Keatts is a wonderful coach and the assistant coaches are great. When I went to visit there with my teammates it was all love.”
