Team Rundown

Head coach Andre Noble and the Imhotep Charter Panthers have been dominant in the Philadelphia area for quite some time. In the past couple of years though, Noble has led his group to be one of the top high school teams throughout the country. With guys like have been playing together for three to four years the Panther will be very tough to beat this season. They have just about everything you can ask for in talent, depth, size, guard play and more. They won’t be hiding from competition with them playing in events like the City of Palms Classic, Cancer Research Classic, and the Hoop Hall Classic. It’s going to be an exciting year for Imhotep as they are going to one of the most fun teams to watch this year.

The Star(s)

It’s tough to choose who the star is between Xavier commit Dahmir Bishop and Maryland commit Donta Scott, but if you had to choose one, it would be Bishop. He may have emerged onto the national scene more than any other prospect in the northeast this season. Bishop scores the ball in a variety of ways with his improved jump shot and knack for getting to the basket. With how he has improved recently, it bodes very well for this upcoming season. Andre Noble will give Bishop a lot of freedom on the court to do what he does best - score the ball.

Impact Players

Imhotep Charter is far more than just Dahmir Bishop. They are one of the best-comprised teams throughout the country, and offer up some major veteran leadership. The Panthers' frontcourt is highlighted by junior Elijah Taylor and Binghamton commit Jamil Riggins. Both Taylor and Riggins work well together with how hard they play in the paint, and they've been big-time producers for Noble. The Panthers also have two big-time small forward prospects in the aforementioned Scott and senior Chereef Knox. Both had great grassroots seasons and looked even better in fall preseason events, especially the future Terrapin Scott. As mentioned before, Dahmir Bishop is the floor general on this team, but they also have senior point guard Fatayn Wesley who runs the show. All of these players work together very well and it should be fun to watch most of them close out their senior year in a big way.

Final Word

This has been the year most Philadelphia high school basketball fans have been looking for with Imhotep Charter. There is a lot of hype surrounding this team with guys like Bishop, Scott, Riggins and Wesley entering their final year of high school. There isn’t a better coach to lead a team like this than Andre Noble. Noble has been at Imhotep Charter for a while and knows how to coach talented teams like this. This is a big year for everyone in their program and there’s no denying that all eyes will be on them as they prepare to take on a national schedule.
