There is a fast start to the season, then there's what Shadow Mountain did last week.

Kicking off their 2017-18 campaign ranked 23rd in the country, the Matadors of Shadow Mountain came out of the gates blazing, racking up three blowout wins behind their talented junior guards.

Jaelan House and Jovan Blacksher put up some eye-popping numbers in the three wins, almost video-game like. The following are the three-game averages for House and Blacksher. The duo combined to average 20 steals per game, a statistic unheard of at the varsity level.

House: 23.7 PPG, 48.0 FG%, 11.0 SPG, 5.3 APG, 4.7 RPG

Blacksher: 18.3 PPG, 44.0 FG%, 9.0 SPG, 6.0 APG, 4.7 RPG

Shadow Mountain performed exceptionally as a team, winning in the season's first week by a whopping average of 44.3 points per game. Their first game in week two was against Thunderbird, and the Matadors won by 80, 108-28.

Keep tabs on Shadow Mountain as they progress through their season, as they look to be well on their way to a top ten ranking behind House and Blacksher.
