Hunter Dickinson is looking at four schools

One of the top class of 2020 centers in the nation in Hunter Dickinson recently cut his list of schools to Duke, Florida State, Notre Dame, and Michigan. The DeMatha Catholic (M.D.) and Team Takeover (EYBL) product broke down his final four and decision timeline.

Duke: “Coach K is a legendary coach so it's pretty hard to not listen to what he has to say. He's coached pretty much every great basketball player, so just to hear him talk about how he liked my game and he wants to coach me, it's a pretty exciting thing to have. Also, Duke being good academically helps, and being able to play with my friend Jeremy Roach would be something that I'd like to do."

Florida State: "I really like the coaching staff. Coach Hamilton, he's super cool. I really like how the team is so connected. They're really close and that's something that I would like and am looking for in a team for college. The campus is really nice, it's got great weather, so the campus life would be something that would be a plus for them. And also their track record with bigs. They say they've done so much with bigs with so far less talent than me so they would love to have somebody like me."

Notre Dame: "Notre Dame's been there since I was able to be recruited basically. Mike Brey's been there from the start. Being a DeMatha guy, we rarely talk basketball. We mostly just talk about other stuff, which I like. The great academics with basketball would be something that I'd like to do and they're one of the best with that, so that's why I'm really intrigued with them, cause of Coach Brey and the opportunity for me to be the star there."

Michigan: "Coach Juwan Howard, he basically played my position so I couldn't learn from a better person in college basketball in terms of what I am and who's done what I've done. Probably he and Patrick Ewing are the only two that I could think of that have done what I'm doing right now and can help me develop, so I really like that. Also just his passion for coaching and passion for Michigan, like the school and everything, you can really tell that he's super happy to be there. He just loves Michigan, he just wants to bring a national championship there. I just really like how I can do basketball and academics there. I really like him as a coach, I feel like I vibe with the team really well."

Q: When do you aim to make a decision?

A: "Hopefully a decision by before the season. I'd like to get it over with before the first game."

Q: What do you see your decision coming down to?

A: "I feel like it’s going to come down to a gut feeling of where I feel like I fit in best. I think all these schools, any one of the four I could go and be successful. I feel like the gut decision will probably be the biggest factor."
