Q&A with West Virginia commit Taj Thweatt

West Virginia received a key class of 2020 commitment from Taj Thweatt earlier this week. The Wildwood Catholic (NJ) product gives Mountaineers Head Coach Bob Huggins an elite athlete to work with on both sides of the ball. Thweatt spoke to Prep Circuit about his commitment to West Virginia.

Q: Why did you choose West Virginia?

A: “I chose West Virginia because it’s a great program and playing for Bob Huggins is an honor.”

Q: What did you see on your official visit that you made you confident that this was the school for you?

A: “The campus is great, I like it a lot. The staff is really cool and they just want to help us develop as players.”

Q: What was Bob Huggins’ message to you on the visit?

A: “They said they can put me in at the three or four and I’d be a big part of their zone.”

Q: Your style of play is similar to that of WVU. How do you see yourself fitting in there?

A: He told me, ‘If you want to act like a kid, you will get treated like a kid. If you act like an adult, you will get treated like one.”
