Chance Westry does a Q&A with Prep Circuit

Class of 2022 guard Chance Westry won MVP at one of the best underclassmen events in the nation at the Hoop Group Future All-American Camp. Westry spoke to Prep Circuit on his performance and much more.

Q: What is it like performing so well at an event like the Hoop Group Future All-American Camp?

A: “I like showing what I got in this environment,” he said. “I come out every day and play hard against some of the best talent in the country. I love competing here and I’m just having fun.”

Q: What are some of the ways you would you describe the way you play?

A: “I’m a pass-first guard and I like getting others involved,” Westry said. “I like talking on defense and change the game when I’m out there.”

Q: What is the next step for you?

A: “I’m just working on my athleticism around the rim,” he said. “I’m 6’4” so I have to use my height and my length on both ends.”

Q: Which NBA or college player do you watch to help out your game?

A: “I love De’Aaron Fox and his motor,” said Westry. “He gets others involved, he can score and he is a big-time athlete. He is a great leader and that is someone I look at to pick up things on the court.”

Q: Which schools have extended offers to you thus far?

A: “VCU, Florida, Syracuse, Michigan, DePaul, Georgetown, and Penn State have offered me thus far.”
