Five-Star Isaiah Todd announced last week he is down to five schools in Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Memphis, and North Carolina. Each of these schools has their own unique selling point to him.
Kansas: “I liked the in-home visit I did with them and I just like Bill Self. He’s a good coach, a cool guy and we have a nice relationship. They offered me when I was young.”
Kentucky: “What I like about Kentucky is how Coach Calipari is real with me about everything. I like his spirit and he’s also a good coach. Kentucky has been recruiting me the hardest with coaches even direct messaging me on Instagram. I like that they have a good resume of putting guys in the league.”
Michigan: “I like Juwan Howard and I’m pretty close with his son Jett. His son only has good things to say about his Dad. I like the school and I feel like I would fit into their system. Coach Howard can probably teach me a lot about the next level with his experience in the NBA.”
Memphis: “Penny is Penny Hardaway so he can teach me a lot about the next level. They aren’t recruiting anyone else at my position and he said he likes how versatility I am. I feel like I can learn a lot there.”
North Carolina: “I like how they use their four men Luke May and how they used Cameron Johnson. Roy Williams and everyone at North Carolina seems like they are really good people. They are really family-oriented and I like that they are close to home.”
It appears that Todd has two official visits in the works for the fall.
“I don’t have any official visits set yet, but I think Kansas and my Mom have discussed setting one in the fall,” said Todd. “I also think Kentucky and my Mom have talked about a visit in the fall as well.”
He doesn’t have a specific timetable set yet and plans on committing whenever he feels his found his college home.
“I just have to sit down with my Mom and the people in my circle and figure out what is the best for me to do,” he said. “We have to explore what each of the coaches plans are for me and sit down with each of them during my visits. If I feel like I need to take all of them I will, but feel comfortable with one of the schools on my visit I could commit then.”
Five-Star Big Man Evan Mobley has committed to USC.
Ben Roy, a class of 2022 PG from Manasquan (NJ)/Team Rio (NJ), will go on an unofficial visit to George Washington tomorrow.
