Q&A with Wildcats Select wing Jalen Bridges

Jalen Bridges made some noise this past weekend with the Wildcats Select (PA). Bridges started off the Adidas Gauntlet session with a 20 point performance in a win over Riverside Church. Schools like Xavier and West Virginia were in to see him. He spoke about the latest with his recruitment and more.

Q: You were originally a class of 2019 recruit, but you are looking to reclassify to 2020 now. What is the latest with that decision?

A: “A couple of high major schools are talking about 2019, but at this point, I think I’m going to stick with 2020.”

Q: Who are some of the schools that have reached out to you about going 2019?

A: “Virginia, Ohio State, Xavier, TCU, West Virginia and more.”

Q: West Virginia has been recruiting you hard and your former teammate Oscar Tshiebwe is headed there next year. What do you like about their program?

A: “It’s fifteen minutes away from my house so my whole family will be able to come to see me. When you go there you aren’t playing for a city, you are playing for a whole state.”

Q: What do you like about Xavier?

A: “It’s a special place and Coach Travis Steele has a special thing going on over there. I really like it there.”

Q: What is going to separate one school from the rest?

A: “A school that can provide good academics and good basketball.”

Q: What do you think makes you a must-have player for these programs?

A: “I play both sides of the floor and I’m not just looking to score on you. I’m looking to lock you up too.”
