Q&A with four-star Henry Coleman

Class of 2020 power forward Henry Coleman from Team Loaded VA had a dominant performance this afternoon with 18 points and 6 rebounds in a 61-53 win over Indiana Elite. He spoke about his play and the latest with his recruitment.

Q: You guys had an impressive performance today, how would you say you looked?

A: “We’ve been struggling the last couple of weeks and now we are playing together. When we come together we can be really nasty. We have a lot of sophomores so we are just trying to groom these guys and play at a high level each and every game.”

Q: What would you say that you have been working on the most this season?

A: “Just ball handling and shooting. I didn’t shoot the ball that well in that game, but I’ve been shooting the ball really well these last couple weeks especially in the high school season.”

Q: You look a lot more comfortable on the perimeter. Is that also something you’ve been working on?

A: “Yeah definitely, I’ve been working with Coach Ward and I’m watching a lot of perimeter guys like Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons. Guys that play in transition, but in the half-court too.”

Q: How’s recruiting been going?

A: “It’s going well, it’s picking up a lot. The latest that are hard on me are Duke, Virginia, Georgetown and NC State. Those have been really hard on me these past couple weeks.”

Q: You went on a visit to Virginia recently. What do you like about their program?

A: “It was unbelievable, Tony Bennett has really picked up that program and turned them around. He’s just a good guy and they’ve really groomed a bunch of great players. I talked to some of the guys like DeAndre and Ty and they were just some good guys.”

Q: You also visited Duke, what do you like about them?

A: “Yeah, I was there for the Georgia Tech game and talked to Coach K. He said he really liked my game and he just really wants to make me a better person and player.”

Q: What schools would you say have made you a priority?

A: “Ohio State, Virginia and NC State have told me I can come in and make an impact on their program.”
