The 2019 adidas Gauntlet is officially through it's first weekend of play, and 15 players were able to separate themselves from the pack.
Four separate regional events were in play over the weekend as adidas kicked things off in Irvine (CA), Spartanburg (SC), Indianapolis (IN), and Boston (MA).

Keon Johnson (EAB) averaged 23 points per game, including a 35 point outing vs Ohio Basketball Club. Going into this grassroots season, Johnson was looked at as one of the best scorers on the Gauntlet and showed why this past weekend at the Midwest Regional.
Benedict Mathurin (Brookwood Elite) averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds per game. The junior Mathurin started off the season with a bang, averaging a double-double in the East Regional while establishing dominance on the interior.
Andre Curbelo (NY Jayhawks) averaged 17.2 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game for head coach Jay David and the Jayhawks. Curbelo is as crafty as they come and is always a step ahead. He was able to produce on the scoring end as well as get his teammates involved.
Trey Galloway (Indiana Elite) put up averages of 21.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. He shot 66 percent from the field and had 32 point and 29 point outings. Galloway is one of the best shooters in the 2020 class.
Freshman Paul McMillan (Manimal Elite) scored 20.2 points per game over the weekend. McMillan led Manimal Elite to a 3-1 record for the weekend with scoring a 27 point and 26 point games.
Deivon Smith (Atlantic Celtics) averaged 19 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. The Atlanta Celtics went 3-1 on the weekend and Smith was a huge reason why. He finished with a 26 point performance in a 74-59 win over Team Carroll.
Kadarius Johnson (Game Elite JB) averaged 19.5 points & 5 assists per game over the weekend. As the event progressed, Johnson grew more comfortable and finished with 20 point, 26 point, and 29 point games.
Tyson Acuff (REACH Legends) aveeraged 19 points & 5.5 rebounds per game in four games. Acuff stood out in the Midwest Regional and put up four impressive performances.
Junior forward Day’Ron Sharpe (Garner Road) averaged 18.5 points & 6.5 rebounds per game. The North Carolina commit shot 75% from the field and consistently impacted the game defensively.
Rowen Farrell (Indiana Ice) scored 18.5 points per game, adding a season-high 31 points in one outing. The class of 2020 guard is a sharpshooting prospect on the rise and one to keep an eye on for the Indiana Ice.
Jerry Bracey II (MBA Select) 18.0 points & 7.5 rebounds per game. Bracey started the Midwest Regional with a bang as he had a double-double with 26 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Maximus Gizzi (Indiana Elite East) put up 17.5 points & 5 assists per game in four games. Gizzi shot 62% from the field and contributed in more ways than just scoring the ball.
Dwight Davis (Riverside Church) averaged 17.2 points per game with him scoring 28 points on 10-for-15 shooting versus Mass Rivals. The NYC native led the charge for Riverside Church in their Adidas Gold debut.
Makur Maker (Dream Vision) put up averages of 16 points & 6.8 rebounds per game. Maker put together some impressive performances at the West Regional. He showed why he is one of the most intriguing 2020 prospects in the country and should only get better as the season progresses.
Journee Phillips (PB Nation) averaged 16.5 points per game for PB Nation. Phillips took the Southeast Regional by storm and finished off the weekend with an 18 point performance while shooting 80 % from the field.
